For 2024, New Balance’s iconic ‘Grey Day’ celebration is taking over the whole month of May. A significant moment in the New Balance calendar, Grey Day is an annual event to celebrate the brand’s signature colour.
Why the Colour Grey?
New Balance’s love for the colour Grey dates back to the late ‘70s and early ‘80s when the Boston-based brand launched a range of Grey running shoes.
They were seen as a solution to a problem where all-White runners were too easily ruined, either from bad weather or dirty streets.
Since then, New Balance have embraced their fondness for the colour and see it as their staple hue to this day. It is considered an emblem of creativity and innovation.
As a result, Grey Day was born in 2018, with the brand dropping some of their most iconic silhouettes in fresh Grey colourways every year since.

New Balance 9060
Rooted in retro, the 9060 brings those classic Y2K feels to the present.
The inspiration for the aesthetic is pulled straight from running shoes of the era, with expanded sway bars throughout the upper creating a sense of motion.

Debuting in ’99 making it’s mark on basketball courts from coast to coast. Archived before being resurrected in 2020.
The 550’s low top, streamlined silhouette offers a clean take on the heavy-duty designs of the late ‘80s.
The premium uppers gives the silhouette a lux feel, but keeps it durable for the streets.
